OKLAHOMA CITY ?

State health officials say six new flu deaths have been reported in Oklahoma in the past week.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported the new deaths Thursday. The agency says a total of 14 people have died in Oklahoma so far this flu season ? with six of those deaths reported in the past week.

Of the recent deaths, three were reported in Comanche County. Cleveland, Oklahoma and Pittsburg each reported one new death.

The health department says those 65 and older have been hit hardest by the flu. Ten of the state's 14 deaths happened to people 65 or older.

The state has reported a total of 611 flu-related hospitalizations this season. That's nearly double the 316 hospitalizations reported last season.
