Sentinel Surveillance Summary:
* The percentage of outpatient visits meeting the criteria for ILI1 was 2.5% (94/3,778).
* None of the 168 rapid influenza tests performed by sentinel laboratories were positive for influenza.
* One of seven respiratory specimens tested by PCR at the OSDH Public Health Laboratory (PHL) was positive for influenza B.
* The positive specimen tested by the PHL was collected from an Oklahoma County resident who was less than 5 years of age, and who was not hospitalized.

Influenza-Associated Hospitalization Surveillance:
* One confirmed influenza-associated hospitalization was reported to OSDH between October 30 ? November 5, 2013. This individual tested positive for influenza A 2009 H1N1.
* The reported hospitalization occurred in an Adair County resident who was 19 to 64 years of age. No influenza-associated deaths have been reported to OSDH.

Twenty-three (66%) of the 35 respiratory specimens tested for influenza by PCR at the OSDH Public Health Laboratory were positive for influenza A 2009 (H1N1).

208 (21.8%) of the 956 rapid influenza tests performed by sentinel laboratories were positive for influenza. 204 (98%) of the specimens were positive for influenza A, and four (2%) specimens were positive for influenza B.
41 (67%) of the 61 respiratory specimens tested for influenza by PCR at the OSDH Public Health Laboratory were positive for influenza. 40 (98%) of those specimens were positive for influenza A 2009 (H1N1). One specimen was positive for influenza A (H3).
