Re: Oklahoma - Week 26 (43 total deaths for season)

Week 26:

* Findings from the outpatient sentinel surveillance system for Influenza–like illness revealed less than 1% of outpatient visits meeting the criteria for influenza-like illness1 (ILI) during the month of June.
* 1.4% (3/211) of influenza tests performed by sentinel laboratories were positive from May 30 through July 3.
* The origin of the three influenza-positive test results was a sentinel laboratory in the east central region performing rapid antigen screening. Although the positive results clustered during the week of June 5, further follow-up revealed no apparent connections among these individuals.
* None of the 14 respiratory specimens tested in June at the OSDH Public Health Laboratory (PHL) were positive for influenza viruses.

One influenza-associated hospitalization was reported between May 30-July 3, 2010.

Note: From June through September 2010, OSDH will produce a monthly report and post during the first week of each month. OSDH will return to posting weekly reports at the beginning of the 2010-2011 influenza season (week ending October 9, 2010).
