Health officials: Recent local TB cases isolated

The Rogers County Health Department and Oklahoma State Department of Health Acute Disease Service are currently investigating and treating two confirmed cases of tuberculosis (TB) in Rogers County.
Local public health officials announced in late April they were conducting a standard TB investigation, which included monitoring and testing individuals potentially exposed to the disease after they were alerted to a possible case. Since that time, two confirmed cases of TB, which produced symptoms, have been identified.
During a conference call with local and state public health officials Wednesday, Dr. Charles Harvey, Tuberculosis Control Officer for the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), said, ?The two people (with tuberculosis) are still isolated and are being treated.
