Ohio flu hospitalizations top 1,900 this season

COLUMBUS ? Ohio health officials say 935 patients with the flu required hospital care last week, nearly doubling the statewide total of flu hospitalizations to more than 1,900 so far this season.
Flu season can stretch from autumn into spring, and this year it appears to be severe and may be peaking early...

For the second week in a row, public-health officials have relatively good flu news. The number of emergency-department visits, hospitalizations and kids missing school are all down.
But the numbers are descending from a summit the likes of which we haven?t seen in years, and doctors remain worried about the severity and reach of this season?s flu.
