ZANESVILLE ? The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is taking steps to stamp out the spread of a severe central nervous system infection stemming from water-borne mosquitoes.
Deputy Health Commissioner/Director of Environmental Health Mike Kirsch said he had been informed of a possible case of LaCrosse encephalitis and received confirmation on Aug. 1.
Health Department Nurse Betty Fisher said a second case was reported on Wednesday.
