COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Public health officials say a mumps outbreak in central Ohio has reached 339 cases across three counties.

Columbus health officials on Friday reported the running total of the cases of the contagious viral illness, with 199 of those linked to Ohio State University. The illnesses date back to early January.

The cases in Delaware, Franklin and Madison counties total almost three-quarters of reported cases nationwide...

More suspected cases of mumps in Clark County

Clark County now has a total of six suspected and probable cases of mumps as the largest outbreak of the virus in Ohio in years continues to spread.

The suspected and probable mumps cases include four adults and two children, including a 4-year-old, Clark County Health Commissioner Charles Patterson said Friday.

Clark County Combined Health District officials became aware of the three new suspected cases this week. Officials are now waiting for test results on those three cases ? an adult man, an adult woman and a child who is less than 5 years old...

Shelby County 4th grader diagnosed with mumps

A case of mumps was confirmed in a fourth grade student at Fort Loramie Elementary School in Shelby County.

A spokeswoman with the Sidney-Shelby County Health District confirmed the case. She said the patient is a student in the district, but would not release the student's grade.

A letter from the Board of Health Sidney-Shelby County was sent home with students on Monday to notify their families...

SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) ? The Shelby County Board of Health says it has two confirmed cases of mumps in the county.

One victim is a senior citizen while the other is a child.

The Board of Health says the cases are not connected and it is not considered an outbreak right now...
