A student in the Upper St. Clair School District probably has swine flu, according to a letter sent to parents.
District officials informed parents that it will be five to 10 days before the case is confirmed as swine flu, known as H1N1 virus. The Allegheny County Health Department has recommended that none of the district's schools be closed.
Students and staff who are ill or have a fever of more than 100 degrees and other symptoms such as a sore throat, cough, congestion, body aches, runny and stuffy nose, fatigue and headache are asked to stay out of school for at least seven days or until they are free of symptoms for at least 24 hours, whichever is longer.

On video, Allegehy Health official says there are "about a half dozen school" with infected students, which are presumably in Allegheny County.

To date, three school disticts have been named (North Allegheny, South Fayette, and Upper St Clair), which involve at least 4 schools (a middle and elementray school in North Allegheny) so it sounds like at least two more schools have infected students.

(Daughters play soccer against students in North Allegheny as well as Upper St Clair).

Superintendent Patrick I. O'Toole announced Tuesday that the Allegheny County Health Department has confirmed a second probable case of swine flu in the Upper St. Clair School District.
The health department does not recommend the closing of any schools in the county that have experienced a few cases of swine flu, also known as the H1N1 virus, O'Toole wrote in the announcement posted on the school Web site.
The health department notified the district June 3 about the first probable case and Monday about the second one. Tests have not been completed to confirm either one, O'Toole wrote.
Graduation is scheduled Thursday and the last day of classes is Friday.
