Obesity - A terrifying biological reason for why US deaths from COVID-19 are so much higher than in many other countries

I think this is the real problem politicians and even health experts do not want to mention. With 40% of the US population obese, and even more just overweight, it's political suicide to focus on this. It will get worse because this doctor is finding that her patients, including children, are gaining significant weight as they isolate.

When COVID-19 meets our existing obesity pandemic

"Those statistics should be somewhat alarming; however, additional findings border on terrifying."

"As a single risk factor, obesity independently eclipses the mortality risk of other related conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, or history of a heart attack. Despite the fact that many obese people identify as “healthy,” all bets are off when it comes to fighting COVID-19. "

"Eating healthy and exercising must become as high a priority as the endless search and billions being spent on the search for a miracle COVID-19 cure or vaccine. "
