The Ministry of Education, working with the Early Childhood Advisory Committee and its pandemic planning representatives, has produced a pandemic planning guide and action plan for early childhood education services.
The Ministry consulted extensively to ensure the pandemic planning guides and action plans met the needs of services and appreciated input from people working in the sector.
The planning guide and action plan are included here below as Word documents that can be copied and adapted for your service. We expect these will also be provided to services as a CD in the Early Childhood Education Funding Handbook in the future.
Services wanting to get started on their pandemic planning can use the documents available on this page. The planning kit comprises:
* Influenza Pandemic Planning Guide for Early Childhood Education Services - contains useful background information and resources to help you to develop a pandemic action plan for your service.
* Pandemic Action Plan for Early Childhood Education (ECE) Services - contains guidelines and steps schools could take.
