And if you went to a Johnsonville gym or several city supermarkets last week you may also be at risk...

People who attended the comedy show have been told to look out for symptoms from October 19 -26 and to be aware that a rash may not appear in the first instance...

...Dr Craig Thornley said people who were at the following locations should find out if they are protected from measles and be aware of the signs and symptoms.

October 7: City Fitness, Johnsonville between 6am-8.30am.

October 8: City Fitness, Johnsonville between 6am-8.30am and Neo Cafe and Eatery, Wellington. between 9am-4.30pm, Sprig and Fern Tavern, Petone between 7pm-10.15pm.

October 9: City Fitness, Johnsonville 6am-8.30am, Neo Cafe and Eatery 7am-4.30pm, New World Thorndon 4.30pm -6pm.

October 10: City Fitness, Johnsonville 6am- 8.30am, Neo Cafe and Eatery, 7am -1pm, New World Thorndon 4.30pm- 6pm, Wellington Hospital Emergency Department 3.30pm-10pm.

More than 1000 school kids exposed to measles at Rotorua camp

More than 1000 people were exposed to measles at a school holiday camp in Rotorua.

Adults and children as young as four who attended the Seventh Day Adventist camp in Rotorua may need to go into quarantine after an Auckland child with measles attended.

Auckland Regional Public Health Service is working to alert 1200 camp-goers that they may be at risk of the illness after being exposed to the virus at the Tui Ridge Park camp.

The children at the camp were aged four to 15 years.

Auckland Regional Public Health Service clinical director Dr Julia Peters said the child was infectious on October 5 and 6.

Public health units across the North Island have received the contact details of the attendees in their regions, so units could advise people at the camp about their risk and what action to take.

...Anyone who was in the following location at the times listed should be aware that they may have been exposed and at risk of developing measles, unless they are sure they’ve had two MMR vaccinations or are over 50 years of age. If they are not in either of those two groups, they should isolate themselves at home until the dates listed (inclusive):

- At Four Square supermarket, Tekapo between 2-3.30pm on 9 October - remain isolated until 23 October

- At Four Square supermarket, Tekapo between 6-7.30pm on 10 October - remain isolated until 24 October...

Two more measles cases confirmed in Hawke's Bay

Two more measles cases have been confirmed in Hawke's Bay, bringing the total number of cases for the year up to nine.

The cases are linked with the Auckland outbreak, and both are children under 5, Hawke's Bay District Health Board Medical Officer of Health, Nicholas Jones confirmed.

Neither of the new cases have required hospital care.

Known contacts had been traced and the district health board's public health team was working with the families of the children...

Measles outbreak slows in south but not over yet

There have been no new confirmed cases of measles in the south for a week, but it is too early to declare the outbreak over, officials say.

The Southern District Health Board (SDHB) said the total number of cases in the region remained at 71 this week.

Of those 64 are in Queenstown, three in Wanaka, two in Dunedin and one each in Oamaru and Gore...

People who went shopping around Paraparaumu have been asked to watch out for any signs of measles, after a person who did not know they were sick went to several public spots.

Regional Public Health (RPH) said the person went to Coastlands Mall, The Warehouse and Pak'n'Save in Paraparaumu on October 22.

The person visited Coastlands Mall from 9.30am to 11.30am, looked around The Warehouse from 10am to 11am and went supermarket shopping around 10.30am to 11.45am...

– The person departed Apia, Samoa, on Samoa Airways Flight OL731 at 7am on Saturday 2 November.

– The flight landed at Auckland International Airport at around 10.15am on Saturday 2 November.

The passenger went into isolation shortly after arriving back in New Zealand.

Anyone who was on the same flight, or in the airports’ departure or arrival areas around the same time as the case, should watch out for measles symptoms from around this Saturday, November 9...

More passengers on Samoa to Auckland flights exposed to measles

Three passengers on flights from Samoa to Auckland in the past week have been confirmed as having measles - as the island nation grapples with an epidemic.

Auckland Regional Public Health has issued a warning for two other flights where passengers were exposed to the potentially deadly disease.

"We have been notified of two cases of measles in passengers travelling from Samoa to Auckland on two separate flights," the warning said.

"The first departed Apia, Samoa, on Air New Zealand flight NZ959 at 9.40pm on Friday, November 8, landing at 12.45am on Saturday, November 9."

The second Air NZ flight affected is one which left Faleolo Airport at 9.40pm on Sunday, November 10, and landed in Auckland about 1am on Monday, November 11.

Before this, the ARPHS issued a warning for passengers who travelled on flight NZ255 last Thursday, November 7.

The flight left Samoa about 3.30pm and touched down in Auckland about 6.30pm.

"The measles outbreak may have peaked, but it is not yet over," authorities said in an alert issued this morning...

People living in the MidCentral DHB region who have children aged between 15 months and five years, or who are planning travel to the Pacific Islands over the upcoming holiday break are advised to ensure that they are immunised against measles. In addition, babies aged six months to 11 months who are travelling to Auckland or overseas to a country that has an active outbreak of measles are also advised to be immunised against measles.

MidCentral’s Public Health Service has confirmed a child who has recently returned from Samoa has contracted measles. This is the ninth case of measles in the region since the start of the year.

The child is in isolation and advice is being provided to close contacts of the child. Those who are not immune to measles have been advised to stay in isolation until 14 days after their last exposure to the infectious child.

The child has also been round public areas in Palmerston North and Feilding while infectious and before knowing they had measles so other members of the public may also have been exposed to the disease...

Hawke's Bay RSE worker confirmed with measles

A seasonal worker has been confirmed with measles in Hawke's Bay.

Hawke's Bay District Health Board Medical Officer of Health Dr Rachel Eyre said the employer of the RSE (Recognised Seasonal Employer) worker had acted quickly to notify the DHB's public health unit.

An infant is in isolation, in a stable condition, at Hawke’s Bay Hospital with measles - taking the total to 18 confirmed cases in the region this year.

Hawke’s Bay District Health Board Medical Officer of Health Dr Rachel Eyre said the infant was too young for vaccination. The public health service was working with family and other close contacts to minimise any risk of spread.

Dr Eyre said the latest measles case was a reminder to all people to check their immunisation status and be aware of measles symptoms...

Passengers on two Air New Zealand flights should watch for signs of measles after being around passengers who weren't aware they were in the early infectious stage of the disease.

The people were on Air New Zealand flight NZ959 from Apia to Auckland, which departed Samoa on December 6 at 10.17pm and arrived in Auckland at 1.20am on December 7.

People on Air New Zealand flight NZ445 from Auckland to Wellington, departing at 5pm and arriving at 6.23pm on December 7, were also exposed...

The baby is one of 15 in the New Zealand territory who has not yet been vaccinated due to being aged under 12 months.

The child was admitted to Niue Fo'ou Hospital on Tuesday.

Parents with babies aged under one year and unimmunised pregnant mothers have been advised to avoid the hospital.

The Niue Health Department says, as of 13 December all children aged one to two years had been vaccinated while two to four year olds were at 96 percent...

Authorities have sounded the alarm after a passenger infected with measles flew from Auckland to Tonga return in recent days.

People who were on the flights should be on guards for signs of the highly infectious disease, Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) medical officer of health Maria Poynter said.

The same measles patient flew from Auckland to Tonga and back over two days.

The flights were: NZ270 departing Auckland 8.30am Monday, landing in Nuku'alofa at 11:15am, and NZ273 departing Nuku'alofa at 12:30pm, landing in Auckland at 3:15pm...
