Officials with Saratoga Gaming and Raceway have announced that due to and outbreak of strangles in the backstretch, all racing at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway has been cancelled.

SARATOGA SPRINGS ? The highly contagious infection that prompted officials at Saratoga Casino & Raceway to cancel more than two weeks of harness racing has spread to 14 horses.
Strangles is an upper-respiratory infection that causes lethargy, swollen lymph nodes and nasal discharge. It is not typically lethal and no horses have died as a result of this outbreak.
According to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, there have been no reports of strangles at other New York tracks...
