Syracuse, N.Y. -- An Onondaga County resident sick with Eastern equine encephalitis is making a very good recovery from the potentially deadly mosquito-borne virus, according to a county health department official.
Dr. Quoc Nguyen, the health department's medical director, said today the individual is still hospitalized and will receive rehabilitation over the next seven to 10 days.
Health Department officials said the individual is an adult, but would not disclose where the person lives or other information about the case. It appears to be the nation's first reported human case of EEE this year...
