NYC- school closures, school attendance rates

Re: NYC- school closures, school attendance rates

I searched quite a while to find the normal attendance rate and this was the best I came up with from:

New York State Education Department
Summary of Charter School Renewal Information
Summary of Applicant Information
(for Williamsburg Charter High School)
New York City Community School District 14, Brooklyn
The student attendance rate at WCHS for 2007-2008 was 91 percent, compared to the local district’s attendance rate of 81 percent.
http://www.regents.nysed.gov/meetings/2009Meetings/May2009/0509emsca2a.doc

Of course, that is averaged out over the full year. I think we need to see last year's attendance to know how much of an impact the flu is having.

Re: NYC- school closures, school attendance rates

New York pupils are back to school today.
I don't know, what was yesterday ?

Re: NYC- school closures, school attendance rates

this thread loads slowly, can we remove the data now that we
downloaded it ?

NEW YORK, June 10 (Xinhua)
6.9% of New Yorkers said they had experienced ILI from May 1 - May 20
9.4% in Queens, ~10% Children<18 ~5% adults
530 hospitalizations, 12 deaths

so, ~20% of children in NY may already have been infected
plus asymptomatic infections.
Schools reopened.
We could be post peak in NY ?!?

At least for the children.

Re: NYC- school closures, school attendance rates

June 11: 87.0%
June 10: 87.9%
June 09: 75.0%
June 08: 86.3%
June 03: 86.0%
May 29: 79.8%
May 26: 82.0%
May 04: 87.0%

Re: NYC- school closures, school attendance rates

June 15: 73.0%
June 11: 87.0%
June 10: 87.9%
June 09: 75.0%
June 08: 86.3%
June 03: 86.0%
May 29: 79.8%
May 26: 82.0%
May 04: 87.0%

was there no school on June 12 ? Were many kids maybe
in a long weekend and not yet back on Monday ?

We saw another strange decline to 75% last Tuesday,
but last Monday was 86.3%

Re: NYC- school closures, school attendance rates

can someone please delete all the school-data from this thread ?
The data had been viewed and downloaded now and is no longer needed.

It makes loading of the thread so slow.
