Influenza Surveillance Data
The Health Department is monitoring both seasonal and novel H1N1 influenza activity during the 2009-2010 influenza season. Weekly updates (posted every Friday) will track trends in influenza-like illness (ILI) and show which influenza viruses are currently circulating in the city.
Current findings include:
Overall influenza activity remains at a low level in NYC at this time.
Influenza-related hospitalizations remain at a low level in NYC at this time.
There have been no laboratory-confirmed influenza-related deaths reported to the Health Department since September 1st.
Laboratory surveillance data indicates that novel H1N1 remains the predominant influenza subtype currently circulating in NYC.
