Influenza season began on October 2, 2011.
Influenza activity in NYC is minimal.
Influenza-like-illness visits are at 1.3% of all weekly visits, which is below the Mid-Atlantic and national baselines.
There were seven positive influenza specimens reported for the Week; four for flu A and three for flu B. About 6% of specimens tested were positive for RSV.
There were no nosocomial respiratory outbreaks reported in NYC during Week 40.
