I called the NY DoH and requested updated information on deaths in the State. I received the following:

The number of H1N1 deaths is 25 Upstate and 47 NYC.

The total number of confirmed H1N1 cases for NYS outside NYC is 1,114 as of Jan. 18. That is on our web site at:

http://www.nyhealth.gov/diseases/communicable/influenza/h1n1/

The number of confirmed cases outside NYC will be updated on our web site on Monday.

Our web site has a link to the NYC web site at:

http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/cd/cd-h1n1flu.shtml

You can click on "data summary" and get the number of confirmed cases in NYC - 1,291.

I don't see anything about recent or prior H1N1 deaths at either site. Is this info only available by phone?

I tried calling both the state and NYC. NYC kept referring me to the state DOH. The information above was sent via e-mail. They wouldn't give me anything over the phone. I'll keep trying with NYC and will e-mail the state regularly to get updates.

Re: NY DoH Reports 72 Total Deaths
