The number of influenza notifications in South Australia this year have tripled compared to the same time last year.
Around this time last year, the number of flu notifications in the state was recorded at 1661 however this year has spiked to 3828.
Country Health SA media advisor Nikki Mott said the high recorded number of flu cases was being experienced across the state with a variety of influenza strains affecting people, including swine flu.
