I enjoyed the Numa video very much but do not view it as comedy.

Peace train is great and not comedy.

It is not a comedy. I just found it and didn't want to start a new thread for one song. It is interesting to listen to. If someone wants to start a song thread in the discussion forum, please do.

Thanks Jonsie, I will see if my dear husband can translate the lyrics for us. He speaks French, Czech, fairly fluently although it has been years since he used them daily. Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German are languages he understands to some degree although is not fluent. Hopefully, he can figure out enough to give us the gist of what is being said.

GSGS, yes this is comedy. We are laughing at ourselves when we see these guys lip sync a completely silly song. How many of us do the same thing? To one degree or another most of us do. I air direct the symphony whenever I hear one of my favorite pieces on the radio. Anyone watching would think I was nuts as I really have zero influence on the orchestra, but would also realize it is human nature to parody a conductor. And that is what humor is all about really, recognizing and laughing at ourselves. I don't find slapstick humor funny because I can't find myself doing the same thing, political humor on the other hand has me howling with mirth. And I did laugh out loud at the preposterous silliness of the sailors mimicing the original singer.

What makes the song so funny to me is the first few seconds of Gary's performance...before he starts swinging his arms around.
That strange look on his face. That is me.
The look is on my face just like that ... when I am reading more shocking and dumfounding reports on the bird flu! :D
Just take a look at his face again! That is how exasperated I get. It's pathetic and funny at the same time. :D :(

My kids love this song, it is very popular in our home town, all the kids sing it word for word.... in Romanian.

Gary Brolsma appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" this past week. He is doing a new video. And he says he got offers to appear in 2 Hollywood Movies in the near future ...doing his Numa Numa song.
