Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health, announced two more presumptive cases of the virus on Tuesday, bringing the total number of positive tests to seven.

Nova Scotia hospitals closed their doors to most visitors and a new list of businesses was told to cease operations as officials announced Wednesday the province now has three confirmed and nine presumptive cases of COVID-19.

Five new cases were identified Tuesday, the province said. Four are travel-related and one is connected to an earlier case.

Dr. Robert Strang, the province's chief medical officer, told a news briefing the 12 affected people range in age from early 30s to mid-70s. All are in self-isolation and recovering at home, he said.

Strang said public health is working to identify others who may have come in close contact with them...

The Nova Scotia government announced six more cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

All of the new cases are travel-related. Six cases marks the most reported in one day in the province. As of Saturday's update, Nova Scotia had nine confirmed cases and 12 presumptive cases of COVID-19, for a total of 21.

Premier Stephen McNeil and Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief medical officer of health, will provide an update on COVID-19 on Sunday.

The 21 cases are located across Nova Scotia, the province said in a news release on Saturday. The affected individuals range in age from late teens to mid-70s. One of the people affected who had been hospitalized is recovering at home. One other person with a confirmed case is currently hospitalized...

There are now 68 cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, according to the province.

In a news release Wednesday, the province said 17 new cases of the novel coronavirus were identified on Tuesday.

All of the cases are travel-related or connected to earlier reported cases, according to the province, and none are the result of community spread...

The province's Department of Health confirmed 20 new Covid-19 cases in the Nova Scotia on Saturday, upping the total number of cases to 101.

The cases were identified on Friday, according to a news release issued by the provincial government Saturday afternoon. Most of the new cases are connected to travel or a known case, said the release.

Public health is working to identify people who may have come in close contact with the confirmed cases. Those individuals who have been confirmed are being directed to self-isolate at home, away from the public, for 14 days. At this point, public health cannot confirm community spread as several cases are still under investigation.

The 110 infected individuals range in age from under ten to mid-70's. Three individuals are currently in hospital...

Twenty-six new cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia have been identified, bringing the province's total to 173.

Of the 26 new cases, one is a staff member at The Magnolia, bringing the total to three staff members and two residents with COVID-19 at the Enfield residential care home, the Health Department said in a news release. The residents are in isolation and staff members are self-isolating at home. ..

As of today, April 2, Nova Scotia has 193 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Twenty new cases were identified Wednesday, April 1, and 900 COVID-19 tests were completed at the QEII Health Sciences Centre's microbiology lab.

While most cases in Nova Scotia are connected to travel or a known case, as reported previously, there is one confirmed case of community transmission and more cases are expected to present.

To date, Nova Scotia has 7,446 negative test results and 193 confirmed cases. Those cases range in age from under ten to over 80. Five individuals are currently in hospital. Sixteen individuals have now recovered and their cases of COVID-19 are considered resolved. Cases have been identified in all parts of the province. There are now 207 cases of the novel coronavirus in Nova Scotia, as the province announced 14 additional cases on Friday.

According to a news release, the 14 new cases were identified after almost 900 tested were completed at the QEII Health Sciences Centre’s microbiology lab on Thursday.

“While most cases in Nova Scotia are connected to travel or a known case, as reported previously, there is one confirmed case of community transmission and more cases are expected to present,” the province said in the release...

...Of the 207 cases, 51 per cent are male and 49 per cent are female. Twenty-one individuals have recovered and five are currently in hospital...

...A rise of 29 cases also was announced Saturday, the largest single-day jump so far during the pandemic. The increase brings the total in Nova Scotia to 236 cases.

Most of the cases, 154, are in the central zone while there are 35 cases in the western zone, 23 in the east and 24 in the northern zone.
