Public Health in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are investigating a potential food poisoning incident after more than 150 people got sick following a staff dinner Friday night.

Staff at Atlantic Windows say well over half of the 250 employees in both Amherst, N.S., and Port Elgin, N.B., were out sick on Monday.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says a hospital emergency room in New Brunswick reported several cases of gastrointestinal illness on Sunday that are believed to be related to the event.

"Public Health staff is working with the Department of Agriculture to determine the specific cause of the outbreak,? said the health authority in a statement. ?They are working with their counterparts in New Brunswick to confirm the number of people who were sick and to provide follow up to those cases."
