So far, only registered 23 cases of influenza infection in Norway. None of those infected are seriously ill. But authorities expect that more will become infected and initiate a mass vaccination program to a value of 650 million, skriver Bergens Tidende.

The authorities have ordered 9.4 million doses of vaccine from the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Any given two doses each to be taken with a couple of weeks intervals.

- All will be offered free vaccine to fall. We do not yet know how strong exhortation to take the cure is, or which groups will have the greatest need. But all will receive the offer, "said division director Hanne Nøkleby in price.

The order of the vaccines were made last week. The plan of vaccination in Norway has been clear since the World Health Organization (WHO) 11. June said that Influensaen has evolved into a pandemic in Phase 6 of the WHO scale.

- It will cost about 650 million. In addition, we are working to convert on the other expenses, this would entail, "says Director Jan Berg in health care ministry.

Norway get the first vaccines late autumn, probably in November. Most of these vaccines will likely be delivered by the end of the year. Municipalities will be in charge of implementing vaccination, and people to vaccinate themselves both fastleger and in any event initiated by the municipalities. (ANB-NTB)
