The number of people who have died here from Coronavirus today reached 140, after six more deaths were confirmed this afternoon.

Health Minister Robin Swann revealed yesterday Covid-19 had spread to 32 care homes across Northern Ireland.

It comes after concerns were raised that deaths in care homes related to the virus were not included in the daily Public Health statistics.

The latest NISRA figures for weekly deaths suggest that in the week ending April 3 we lost 55 people to the virus, a jump from nine the week before and one the week before that.
