No flu-associated deaths were reported for week ending 11/27/10.

SLPH identified three positive influenza results (1 B; 1 A/H3; 1 A/H1N1 Pandemic) among the 11 submitted during week ending November 27.

Public Health Epidemiologists (PHEs) reported 6 positive influenza test results for the week ending 11/27/10; 4 influenza A (subtype unknown), 1 influenza B, and 1 influenza A/H3.

Hospital-based Public Health Epidemiologists (PHEs) reported 8 positive influenza test results for the week ending
12/4/10; 4 influenza B and 4 influenza A (subtype unknown).

Regional Updates:
The percentage of ILI reported through ILINet for Region 4 (Southeastern US) decreased during this past reporting
period from 3.1% for week 47 to 2.3% for week 48 (ending 12/04/10).

As of November 27th, Region 4 has accounted for 1,231 (69.7%) of all 1,766 reported influenza viruses this season, including 680 (88.2%) of the 771 influenza B viruses.

Percentage of ED visits for ILI increased, particularly in the Triangle, Triad and Sandhills regions

Hospital-based Public Health Epidemiologists (PHEs) reported 13 positive influenza tests for the week ending 12/18/10; 2 influenza B and 11 influenza A (subtype unknown). RSV was the most frequently identified respiratory virus.

Regional Updates:
The percentage of visits due to ILI reported through ILINet for Region 4 (Southeastern US) increased from 2.7% for week 49 to 4.4% for week 50 (ending 12/18/10). Activity is highest in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.

Hospital-based Public Health Epidemiologists (PHEs) reported 444 positive influenza results for the week ending 1/29/11; 210 influenza B and 209 influenza A (five H3, twenty 2009 pandemic H1, and 209 subtype unknown).

For some reason NC hasn't updated their %ILI or Isolates charts for Week 5 and the pdf version of their report is still from Week 4.
