Nineteen employees at Egypt’s Matareya Teaching Hospital test positive for coronavirus

Egypt’s General Authority of Hospitals and Educational Institutes announced on Wednesday that nineteen employees of Al-Matareya Teaching Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19.
A total of 54 of the hospital’s employees have been tested for the virus so far.
The authority said in a statement that the medical and administrative staff of Al-Matareya were infected by a nurse who had contracted the virus from her father-in-law.
It added that work is continuing as normal at the hospital, and that as soon as an infection appears, control and disinfection protocols are applied.
Follow-up is being carried out by the hospital’s infection control department, and a report is presented to the hospital’s 24-hour crisis control committee, the statement said...
