Taraba Government confirms Lassa fever outbreak

The Taraba State Government has confirmed the outbreak of Lassa fever in the state.
The Commissioner of Health, Innocent Vakkai, who confirmed the outbreak said, ?One person died and two others quarantined and their blood samples have already been taken to Irrua Specialists? Hospital in Edo State for further confirmation.?

The death toll of recent outbreak of Lassa Fever in Taraba State that killed person and two others quarantined has risen to three.
Confirming the incident yesterday at Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, the Medical Director of the hospital, DR. Wiza Inusa said the state has lost three persons to the disease while two others are currently receiving treatment.
