The medical authorities of the State de Kano, in the north of Nigeria, have confirmed with AFP Wednesday the discovery of a new hearth of virus highly pathogenic H5N1 of the aviary influenza in a breeding, the first for almost a month.
"We detected Monday the presence of the aviary flu virus in a breeding of 16 000 chickens with Kakara, after 24 days without new contamination", declared with AFP Shehu Bawa, chief of the committee of the State de Kano for the control of the aviary influenza".
The locality of Kakara is with about fifteen km apart from Kano, the most populated city Nigeria north, where the epizooty of aviary influenza had appeared last February, first case of contamination in Africa.
"I can say with certainty that this case is well the aviary influenza thanks to the hundreds of thousands of case which we had to treat these last months", it ensured specifying that 11 dead chicken samples had been sent for confirmation to the Institute of research veterinary surgeons national of Vom (center).
"It is the procedure but we do not have any doubt", has it says wondering "about this sudden resurgence after an interruption of almost four weeks".
The last case of contamination recorded by the medical services goes up indeed at April 18, when some 200 chickens had died brutally and presented symptoms of virus H5N1 of the aviary influenza in the State de Katsina, also in the north of Nigeria with Bakori and Jargaba.

The American Center for the control of diseases (CDC) in partnership with the federal authorities Nigerians and those of Kano, tested 295 employees working in the contaminated aviary breedings and on the markets in poultries.
"After clinical examination, none of these men presented symptoms of the infection.
