Ugly virus strikes local turkey population

NEWINGTON ? Biologists with N.H. Fish and Game are investigating the presence of two nasty viruses that appear to be having an ugly impact on the local wild turkey population.

Mark Ellingwood, wildlife division chief for N.H. Fish and Game, said Tuesday that biologists are looking into episodes where they believe wild turkeys in Newington may have be infected with the avian pox virus or the lymphoproliferative disease virus (LPDV)...
