CONCORD ? Two more people died from complications related to swine flu in New Hampshire last week, bringing to five the total number of confirmed fatalities since the pandemic began, the state's public health director said today.
Dr. Jose Montero said an adult from Cheshire County and another from Strafford County died last week from illness that may have been related to or complicated by the presence of the virus.
The state previously reported a Pelham child died from complications of the virus last week.
Montero also announced regional clinics will begin offering vaccines to targeted high-risk groups later this week. The clinics will continue or three weeks.
Vaccines will be offered by appointment only to those between the ages of 18 and 24 with underlying medical conditions and those who provide "meaningful care" to infants under six months of age. Montero said the vaccine is not intended for those who visit a household with an infant.
