The World Health Organisation (<abbr title="World Health Organisation">WHO</abbr>) has warned that the current risk from bird flu becoming the next human influenza pandemic is high. The Ministry of Health (<abbr title="Ministry of Health">MoH</abbr>) is currently updating its <cite>Pandemic Influenza Action Plan</cite> and is leading government-wide work to prepare for a possible pandemic in New Zealand.
This site contains two separate sets of information to assist business continuity planning for influenza pandemics.
  1. A Business Continuity Planning Guide, which contains a range of information designed for general use by businesses and other organisations in New Zealand.
  2. A Pandemic Planning Information Kit tailored for infrastructure providers in the energy, communications, transport, water and waste sectors. This contains a version of the Planning Guide and some associated documents to assist their planning.
