ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Health experts in Monroe County are monitoring an early flu season in the Rochester area, accelerated by roughly a month compared to past years.
-snip-
“We’ve got a positivity rate of about 3% of the swabs that are taken, end up being positive for flu,” Dr. Velez de Brown said. “We didn’t hit that number until middle of November last year.”
As published on Roc Health Data, an online respiratory virus monitoring database, there were 14 people with the flu in Monroe County on October 25, 2025. As of October 10 of this year, there were 94 people who tested positive for the flu since the start of the season.
