Bath, N.Y. — Another case of measles has been confirmed in Steuben County, bringing the county's total to 10 amid a recent rise in cases across the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier.

Steuben County Public Health announced Tuesday that the latest case involves an unvaccinated resident who had contact with a previously reported case.

The health department was notified of the positive test result Tuesday. The resident began experiencing symptoms Friday and is isolating until they are no longer considered contagious...

ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Health launched its new "measles dashboard" on Tuesday.

The Department of Health said the dashboard allows the public and healthcare officials to track local health risks and raise awareness about measles.

As part of the launch, the department is also alerting the public and healthcare providers to an increase in measles cases in the capital, central and western regions of the state. The department is encouraging all New Yorkers to ensure they are up to date on required immunizations.

The first positive case of measles in Broome County has been confirmed.

On Sept. 29, officials with the Broome County Health Department confirmed that a non-county resident, who presented with measles exposure and symptoms at a local hospital on Sept. 26, has officially tested positive for measles.

An investigation began when the department was first informed by a local hospital on Sept. 26 that the patient, who came to a Broome County hospital for treatment, may have the first positive case of measles in the county this year. The patient has now been discharged...

PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIALS INVESTIGATE ADDITIONAL MEASLES CASES

LOWVILLE, NY- Lewis County Public Health has received report of 10 additional cases of measles. All cases have been in unvaccinated individuals. The residents that are in their infectious period are currently isolated until they are no longer contagious. To protect resident privacy, no additional details will be released. The overall risk to the public remains low, particularly in those that are fully vaccinated or who were born before 1957 (and presumed to have natural immunity.)...
