New wild type 3 Poliovirus cases found in Mali and Cote d'Ivoire

Breaking news: Two cases of WPV3 have been reported from west Africa - one from Mali (in Mopti province) with onset of paralysis on 8 February and the other from Cote d'Ivoire (in Bas Sassandra province), with onset of paralysis on 27 January. This is the first WPV3 in C?te d'Ivoire since current record-keeping; Mali's most recent WPV3 was in September 2010. These cases have just been reported and will not be reflected in the official global data until next week, when details will be available.
