In a decisive move to safeguard Nevada’s agricultural economy and ensure food security, the state’s leadership has effectively managed the bird flu outbreak that recently threatened both livestock and consumer markets. Under the stewardship of Dr. J.J. Goicoechea, Director of the Nevada Department of Agriculture, proactive measures have contained the spread of avian influenza, with only two operations currently under quarantine in Nye and Northern Nevada.​..
