Current numbers COVID-19: 22 April 2020
* The actual number of infections with the novel coronavirus is higher than the number mentioned here. This is because not everyone who may be infected is tested for the virus.
** There is a delay between the day of hospital admission or the day of death, and the day on which those figures are reported.

Hospital admissions for 124 patients were reported today (current or previous). 138 deaths were reported. Not all of the reported hospital admissions or deaths occurred within the last 24 hours. Some patients are reported later. For this reason, the figures are often supplemented with data from previous days.
34,842 confirmed COVID-19 patients have been reported to RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment so far.
The figures for the last few days are in line with the impression that the measures are working. The number of new hospital admissions reported per day is still decreasing. The same applies to the number of reported deaths.
Number of positive tests compared to total number of tests
Since 6 April, more people have been tested for COVID-19, especially healthcare workers who are working outside hospitals and have symptoms, as well as vulnerable groups are people who have a higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19, and healthcare workers in hospitals. In recent weeks, the number of people being tested has risen to almost 40,000 per week. The percentage of people who test positive for COVID-19 increased until the end of March, rising to about 30% of the total number of people tested, and then decreased again. In addition to the decreasing number of new patients due to the measures introduced on 16 March, the changed testing policy since 6 April also plays a role here.
| Positive tested persons | 34,842* | (+708) |
| Admitted to hospital | 10,021 | (+124) |
| Reported deaths | 4,054** | (+138) |
