In Kamperveen (municipality Kampen) bird flu (H5) has been confirmed at a holding with ducks. To prevent the spread of the virus, the ducks will be culled. In total there are approximately 14,000 meat ducks. In addition, the poultry from another company is culled preventively because it is located in a radius of one kilometer from the infected farm in Kamperveen. The culls are carried out by the Dutch Food and Goods Authority (NVWA).
In the area of three kilometers around the infected holding in Kamperveen are still two other holdings. These poultry farms are sampled and tested for avian influenza.
Van Dam State Secretary for Economic Affairs immediately announced a transportban regarding poultry farms in a zone of 10 kilometers around the holding in Kamperveen. This region overlaps in part with the previously selected area Biddinghuizen where a movement ban is already in force. A movement ban applies to poultry, eggs, poultry manure and used bedding.
All existing national measures shall remain in full force.
