Viral fever outbreak grips Surkhet

An outbreak of viral fever has been reported in different places of Surkhet since the last few days.
According to state-owned news agency RSS, viral fever has gripped the residents of Ghoreta, Mehelkuna, Babiyachaur, Hariharpur and other VDCs in the district.
Local health posts in the VDCs have been crowded by fever patients.
Some 100 to 150 people with complaints of fever from Ghumkhare, Dahachaur, Sahare, Mainataha visit Mehelkuna Primary Health Center every day, said staff nurse Shanti Gurung.
She said along with the change in the weather, the number of patients affected by viral fever has also been increasing in the VDCs of late. Majority of the patients coming for treatment are reported to be students.
According to Chief of District Public Health Office, Mukunda Raj Gautam, teams of health workers with necessary medicine have been sent to the VDCs immediately after the office received reports of the outbreak...
