Dozens succumb to viral fever in Mugu

MUGU: Many people have died due to viral fever that has taken epidemic proportions across Mugu district.

The elderly and children have been the most affected by viral fever coupled with cough and cold.

A five-year-old child and 70-year-old elderly have died in Chayanath Rara Municipality-1, according to a local Dhan Bahadur Malla.

Likewise, 72-year-old Lal Shobha Budha succumbed to viral fever while a one-year-old baby in the Municipality-5, and 70-year-old Dharmakala Shahi died in Municipality-7.

Viral fever claims four lives within a week

In mid-Oct four persons of Seri Satbad, Khale Kawa and Paikhugaun villages had died of viral fever in the district
Dec 2, 2017-Four people have died of viral fever in Righa and Sukadhik villages of Mugu district over the past week, according to the District Health Office (DHO).

DHO officials said Biurasar Pandey, 65, Bishnu Jaishi, 44, Rishisanna Upadhyay , 75, of Righa village and Purba Karki, 55, of Sukadhik village died of viral fever.

Viral fever claims 6 lives in Jajarkot

Jan 5, 2018-Six persons have lost their lives to viral fever that have spread in Junichande Rural Municipality of Jajarkot district in the past two weeks.

Dhansara Nath, 65, Ayeti Tiruwa, 53, Satrup Shahi, 72, of Junichande-2, died of the viral disease. The identities of three children who had fallen prey to the fever are yet to be established.

Hari Bahadur Singh, In-Charge at Badkule-based health post, confirmed the deaths due to viral fever. He attributed the immune deficiencies of the victims for their death.

The viral fever has taken its toll in the district, with around 2,000 people taken ill in the past few days, Singh said.
