Chitwan records 3,889 dengue cases in FY 2024/25

KATHMANDU, JULY 20

A total of 3,889 dengue cases were recorded in Chitwan district in the fiscal year 2024/25, according to the Public Health Office.

Of the total, 3,020 cases were reported within Chitwan-1,548 men and 1,472 women-while 869 cases involved individuals from other districts, including 412 men and 457 women.

Bharatpur Metropolitan City recorded the highest number of infections with 1,171 cases, while Madi Municipality had the lowest with 37. One death due to dengue was reported during the year.

In total, 17,353 dengue tests were conducted in the district during the fiscal year. This marks a significant rise from the previous fiscal year, when 1,831 cases were detected out of 23,840 tests.​..

KATHMANDU: Nepal has recorded over 3,000 dengue cases as the mosquito-borne infection continues to spread across the country. In the past week alone, 137 new cases were reported.

According to data from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), dengue has affected 74 districts since last December, with a total of 3,025 confirmed infections and two deaths reported so far.

Gandaki Province has been the hardest hit, with 888 cases, followed by Bagmati (636 cases), Koshi (532 cases), Lumbini (477 cases), Sudurpaschim (355 cases), Karnali (84 cases), and Madhesh (53 cases).​..

The risk of dengue fever is rising in Baitadi district, with seven cases reported so far, according to Jaya Singh Badal, a lab technician at the District Health Office.
