NAWALPARASI, Sept 5: One person has died of Japanese encephalitis in Nawalpur, Nawalparasi.
According to the chief of the Health Office, Nawalpur, Keshav Prasad Chapagai, a 66-year-old woman from Kawasoti-2 succumbed to Japanese encephalitis. She passed away on August 24 after being admitted to a hospital in Chitwan on August 24 due to illness.
Chapagai said that this is the first death due to Japanese encephalitis in the district in the current fiscal year. He said that Japanese encephalitis was confirmed only after death because the test report was delayed. Last year, out of seven confirmed cases, five people in Nawalpur lost their lives to Japanese encephalitis.
A patient with confirmed Japanese encephalitis is being treated at a hospital in Chitwan, said Chief of Health Office Chapagai. He said that a 15-year-old girl from Devchuli Municipality was diagnosed with Japanese encephalitis and she is being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit...
