Case of the mumps confirmed at middle school in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools confirmed a student was diagnosed with a case of mumps. An email was sent to parents on Sunday.
“We have been informed that one student at River Road Middle School has been diagnosed with mumps,” a spokesperson for the district said. “We are working closely with public health officials to monitor the situation and take appropriate measures.”..

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — A River Road Middle School student suspected of having the mumps does not have it after all, officials said Thursday.
A student at the school had been diagnosed with a suspected mumps case, Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools was told Sunday, and the school division partnered with Albemarle Regional Health Services to confirm the diagnosis through additional lab testing.
