ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools confirmed a student was diagnosed with a case of mumps. An email was sent to parents on Sunday.

“We have been informed that one student at River Road Middle School has been diagnosed with mumps,” a spokesperson for the district said. “We are working closely with public health officials to monitor the situation and take appropriate measures.”​..

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — A River Road Middle School student suspected of having the mumps does not have it after all, officials said Thursday.

A student at the school had been diagnosed with a suspected mumps case, Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools was told Sunday, and the school division partnered with Albemarle Regional Health Services to confirm the diagnosis through additional lab testing.

However, lab results Thursday indicated that mumps was not detected in the student, after all...
