Horizon Health says it has identified two cases in which a patient with probable Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease had cataract surgery at the Moncton Hospital.

Emely Poitras, a spokesperson for Horizon Health, says they have determined the two cases of CJD at the Moncton Hospital are unrelated.

Poitras also says patients who underwent cataract surgery in the following weeks ?have no significant risk of contracting the protein from the same medical instruments being used.?...
