That does not seem sensible policy.
The US is at peace, the world is fighting a deadly disease, which hits the military and civilian populations alike.
Needless secrecy here will only interfere with the ability to take care of the victims, causing long lasting damage to morale for no tangible benefit.
 
They can't really keep it a secret, anyway. Agree that keeping morale up and putting safety first is the best way to go.
