Measles still prevalent

AT least 575 cases of measles were confirmed at the end of September this year, the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) has announced.
Unicef country representative Micaela Marques De Sousa made the announcement on Tuesday during the launch of three new childhood vaccines, as well as the launch of the Maternal and Child Health Week, scheduled for next week as well as the report on the National Maternal Per/Neonatal Death Reviews 2010-2012.

De Sousa said the country has experienced measles outbreaks in 2013 and 2014, but praised government for acquiring the vaccines...

This year, the ministry was on a measles alert after recording 93 cases between January and June 2014. The ministry announced, at the time, that the Okuryangava Clinic recorded the highest number of 26 out of 30 cases...
