Following an outbreak of bird flu at a poultry farming zone in upper Myanmar, the Ministry of Health has urged farmers nationwide yesterday to carry out strict bio security measures at poultry farms in order to prevent human infection, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported on 21 April.

In the announcement, the ministry said that strains H5 and H9 of the bird flu virus broke out at a farming zone in Monywa on April 3...
