Mumbai sees rise in dengue, leptospirosis, swine flu this monsoon: How to stay safe

Heavy rains have increased the risk of mosquito-borne and water-borne diseases, prompting civic authorities to urge residents to take preventive measures.

Mumbai has reported a rise in cases of dengue, malaria and leptospirosis this monsoon compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

According to the BMC's latest update, cases of several monsoon-related diseases have increased in Mumbai between January and July 14, 2026, compared to the same period in 2025.
