Measles case confirmed in Blaine County

BLAINE COUNTY, Mont.- According to the Blaine County Health Department, Fort Belknap Tribal Health/ Public Health Nursing (FBTH/PHN) and Fort Belknap IHS (FB IHS), a case of the measles has been confirmed in Blaine County.

The individual was exposed while traveling out of state and is currently isolating at their home. This is the first case of measles in Montana to be reported in 2026.

Additionally, this reported case of measles will not be reported on the DPHHS measles website due to the fact that the individual is not a resident of Montana...​

HELENA, Mont. - Five new measles cases were confirmed in Lewis and Clark County, according to Lewis and Clark Public Health (LCPH). All five cases were limited to the St. Peter's Emergency Department from 11:20 p.m. on March 20 and 3:00 a.m. on March 30.

Anyone who believes they were exposed should receive the MMR vaccine as soon as possible, LCPH said, and anyone at a higher risk for severe measles such as infants or immunocompromised and pregnant individuals should contact their medical provider.​..
