Three Belgrade middle and high school students have been diagnosed with mumps. This is the most mumps cases Montana has seen in recent years.

Three students in Belgrade middle and high schools have been diagnosed with the mumps.

Matt Kelley with the Gallatin City-County Health Department says that of the three students diagnosed, one had been vaccinated. He says that about 15 to 20 students who haven’t been vaccinated are being asked to stay home or get the vaccine...

Update: A fourth Belgrade student has been diagnosed with mumps.

UPDATE, 3/2/16: Gallatin County health officials said Wednesday afternoon that a fourth student had been diagnosed with mumps at Belgrade Middle School.

?This fourth case is not altogether surprising,? said Health Officer Matt Kelley. ?While we can hope there will be no more cases, the schools and the health department were prepared for additional cases.?...

Officials confirm the seventh case of the mumps in the Belgrade School District. That number is up from three cases that were confirmed earlier this month...one of the new cases was confirmed in Saddle Peak Elementary School...

Gallatin County health officials are urging residents who live in the Belgrade area or who have significant contact with Belgrade Public Schools staff or students to remain vigilant this summer against additional possible cases of mumps...

...So far, 21 cases of mumps have been reported in the Belgrade outbreak...
