A female Jefferson High School student was confirmed with Pertussis last week.

WHITEFISH- Pertussis, better known as Whooping Cough, has hit the Flathead Valley with several tests pending for more possible cases. So far the illness has been confirmed in a Whitefish Middle School student.

Several other tests from students came back negative on Friday morning, but the Flathead City-County Health Department is still waiting for other results...

HELENA - State health officials are following several recent outbreaks of pertussis across Montana, including the one in Ravalli County.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) reports that outbreaks of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, are being reported in several parts of the state, prompting the agency to urge children and adults to get vaccinated.

Nearly 90 cases of pertussis have been reported across the Treasure State since January as compared to approximately 50 cases for the same period last year. Recent cases have been reported in Broadwater, Gallatin, Lewis and Clark, Ravalli, and Stillwater counties...

Sentinel High student confirmed with whooping cough

The Missoula City-County Health Department has notified Sentinel High School administrators that a student enrolled at the school has been confirmed as having pertussis, more commonly known as whooping cough.

The health department confirmed the case on May 2. The school was in the process of contacting all parent households via a phone message late Thursday to share this information...
