Hantavirus confirmed in Cascade County

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services has confirmed a case of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome in a Cascade County resident, according to a news release from the Cascade City-County Health Department.

The case is one of 34 hantavirus cases reported in Montana since 1993. Montana typically sees one to two cases a year ? the Cascade County case is the second in the state in 2012...

FLATHEAD COUNTY

KALISPELL, Mont. -- The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services says they have confirmed that a Flathead county resident has a case of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome. The agency did not release where this person lives other than to say Flathead county. The following information was released Friday morning by the Flathead City-County Health Department:

This case is one of 35 HPS cases reported in Montana since 1993. Montana typically sees 1 to 2 cases a year with this being the third in 2012.
